The Chiefs and People of the Asogli Traditional State have officially launched the 2024 Yam Festival, known locally as Teza. This year’s celebration, is under the theme “Let’s Ensure Freedom and Justice for All,” promises to be an exciting showcase of rich cultural heritage and unity.
The festival, which attracts thousands of visitors from across the country and beyond, will feature traditional rites, drumming, dancing, and cultural performances. According to the planning committee, the significance of Teza extends beyond cultural celebration, serving as an opportunity to reinforce values of freedom and justice in society.
Squadron Leader Evaristus Dargbe, Chairman of the 2024 Teza Planning Committee, emphasized the importance of unity and justice within the Asogli Community. He appealed for support from all stakeholders, including government and corporate entities, to make the festival a memorable success.
The objectives of Teza include thanksgiving for the bumper harvest, prayers for good health and prosperity, fostering unity through forgiveness and reconciliation, and mobilizing resources for job and wealth creation.
